START looks to engage with all members of the asylum and refugee community including young people. Youth work at START is organised and run by youth and community work students on practice learning placements, supported by other students and supervised by START staff.
Each year, START works with young people on tailored short term projects. The group activity or session is based at the Cultural Kitchen and is anchored within the community there. The activity changes each year and is guided by the young people themselves. Activities have included a programme of trips and activities, a group specifically for ‘middle children’, Life Skill sessions and sports.
This year, a group of young people got together and made a DVD about living in Plymouth.
